Brazil: Manufacturing PMI improves in November
The S&P Global Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) rose to 49.4 in November from October’s 48.6. As a result, the index remained below the 50.0 no-change threshold, signaling a continued—albeit softer—deterioration in manufacturing sector operating conditions from the previous month.
The rise was due to softer deteriorations in output and new orders. Meanwhile, firms increased headcounts, while business sentiment improved and input costs rose for the first time in seven months. Less positively, export orders fell at one of the fastest rates in the past three and a half years.
