Bulgaria: Economic sentiment hits highest reading since December 2023 in June
Economic sentiment came in at 106.2 in June, up from May’s 105.1. June’s result marked the best reading since December 2023. Consequently, the index rose further above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected stronger sentiment in the construction sector and improving confidence in the services sector. In addition, consumer confidence increased in June. Less positively, June marked deteriorating sentiment in the industrial sector and cooling sentiment in the retail sector.
Regarding indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations were healthier, while the economic uncertainty index rose in June.
