Bulgaria: Economic sentiment decreases in April
Economic sentiment fell to 104.5 in April from March’s 105.3. However, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected deteriorating sentiment in the industrial and construction sectors. Moreover, confidence in the services sector remained unchanged in April, whereas sentiment in the retail sector softened in the surveyed month. Lastly, consumer confidence cooled in April.
Considering indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations weakened, while the economic uncertainty index remained stable in April.
