Bulgaria: Economic sentiment improves in December
Economic sentiment rose to 107.5 in December from November’s 105.6. December’s result marked the strongest sentiment since May 2018. As a result, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected stronger sentiment in the industrial, construction and services sectors. Consumer confidence was also up in December. Meanwhile, sentiment in the retail sector cooled in the surveyed month.
Referring to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations weakened, while the economic uncertainty index improved in December.
