Bulgaria: Economic sentiment improves in September
Economic sentiment came in at 105.7 in September, up from August’s 105.2. Consequently, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected improved sentiment in the industrial sector and healthier confidence in the services sector in September. These developments outweighed weaker sentiment in the construction sector and cooling sentiment in the retail sector in the month. Finally, consumer sentiment weakened in September.
Referring to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations were unchanged, while the economic uncertainty index decreased in September.
