Bulgaria: Growth in industrial output accelerates in January
In January, industrial production expanded 3.5% over the same month of the previous year in working-day adjusted terms, coming in above the 2.3% expansion recorded in December. Higher manufacturing output more than offset contractions in the electricity, gas, steam and air condition supply; and the mining and quarrying sectors. The expansion in manufacturing was driven by a double-digit increase in the manufacture of electrical equipment; machinery and equipment; beverages; and metallic products.
A month-on-month comparison shows that industrial production rose a seasonally-adjusted 0.3% in January, which came in below the 1.0% rose observed in December.
