Bulgaria: Industrial output falls at sharpest pace since April in September
Industrial output collapsed 12.1% year on year in September (August: -9.7% yoy). September’s outturn marked the worst reading since April. The notable drop was partly driven by a deterioration in manufacturing production, as it recorded the sharpest contraction since April. In addition, mining production weakened.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, factory output fell 2.7% in September (August: +0.8% mom), the worst result since April. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 5.9%, down from August’s minus 4.1%.
