Bulgaria: Contraction in industrial production softens in September
Industrial production dipped 0.1% year-on-year in September, after falling 1.4% in August. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial output logged 0.8%, down from 0.9% in the previous month, marking the weakest reading in over five years.
September’s softer decline reflected a more moderate contraction in the manufacturing and utilities sector, as well as a strong rebound in the mining and quarrying sector. In seasonally-adjusted terms, industrial output expanded 0.3% month-on-month in September (August: 0.0% month-on-month).
