Bulgaria: Inflation eases in July
Inflation ticked down to 2.4% in July, from June’s 2.5%. The moderation was primarily due to weaker price growth for housing and utilities. On the flipside, July saw rising prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages plus transportation.
In addition, the trend pointed down, with annual average inflation coming in at 4.1% in July (June: 4.6%). Meanwhile, harmonized inflation was unchanged, coming in at June’s 2.8% in July.
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.83% in July over the previous month, swinging from the 0.20% drop logged in June. July’s result was the highest reading since July 2023.
