Bulgaria: Inflation remains stable in August
Consumer prices rose 0.04% over the previous month in August, moderating from July’s 0.47% rise. August’s reading largely reflected higher prices for transport as well as recreation and culture. Moreover, prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco also increased.
Inflation came in at 1.2% in August, matching the previous month’s reading and marking the lowest reading since December 2016. Meanwhile, annual average inflation edged down to 2.5% in August (July: 2.6%). Lastly, harmonized inflation rose to 0.6% from July’s 0.4%.
