Bulgaria: Inflation at nearly three-year low in June amid lockdown and falling prices for transport
Consumer prices fell 0.40% from the previous month in June, following May’s softer 0.33% drop. According to the Statistical Institute, May’s fall largely reflected lower prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, and clothing and footwear more than offsetting higher prices for furnishings and household equipment and restaurants and hotels.
Meanwhile, inflation rose to 1.6% from May’s 1.3% which had marked the lowest reading since July 2017. Lastly, annual average inflation eased from May’s 2.8% to 2.7% in June.
