Bulgaria: Inflation at over 2-year low in April amid lockdown and falling fuel prices
Consumer prices fell 0.6% from the previous month in April, matching March’s drop. According to the Statistical Institute, April’s fall largely reflected lower prices for transport, utilities and fuel prices more than offsetting higher prices for clothing and footwear and food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Meanwhile, inflation slumped to 1.8% from March’s 3.0%, marking the lowest reading since January 2018. Lastly, annual average inflation eased from March’s 3.2% to 3.0% in April.
