Bulgaria: Inflation falls to over one-year low in April
Inflation dropped to 11.6% in April from March’s 14.0%. April’s result marked the lowest inflation rate since February 2022. The moderation was broad-based, with reduced price pressures recorded for food and non-alcoholic beverages, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, and transportation.
In addition, the trend pointed down mildly, with annual average inflation coming in at 16.3% in April (March: 16.5%). Meanwhile, harmonized inflation fell to 10.3% in April, from March’s 12.1%.
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.32% over the previous month in April, coming in below the 0.47% increase seen in March. April’s result marked the weakest reading since June 2021.
