Bulgaria: Inflation falls to over one-year low in August
Inflation came in at 7.7% in August, down from July’s 8.5%. August’s reading marked the weakest inflation rate since November 2021. The moderation was primarily due to a slower increase in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. In addition, price pressures for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels eased.
Annual average inflation fell to 13.4% in August (July: 14.3%). Meanwhile, harmonized inflation fell to 7.5% in August, from July’s 7.8%.
