Bulgaria: Inflation falls to over one-year low in September
Inflation eased to 6.3% in September below August’s 7.7%. September’s figure marked the lowest inflation rate since October 2021. The reading was primarily driven by a more moderate rise in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. In addition, price pressures for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels declined at a faster pace.
Accordingly, the trend pointed down, with annual average inflation coming in at 12.4% in September (August: 13.4%). Meanwhile, harmonized inflation fell to 6.4% in September, from August’s 7.5%.
Finally, consumer prices dropped 0.10% over the previous month in September, swinging from August’s 0.38% rise. September’s result marked the sharpest fall in prices since June.
