Bulgaria: Inflation hits over five-year high in June
Consumer prices rose 0.1% on a month-on-month basis in June, easing from May’s 0.3% rise. According to the Statistical Institute, the downtick was driven by lower food prices. Fuel costs, on the other hand, continued their rapid ascent.
Meanwhile, inflation jumped from 2.6% in May to 3.2%, the strongest reading in over five years. Moreover. annual average inflation ticked up to 2.2% from 2.1%.
