Bulgaria: Inflation recedes in October
Inflation came in at 5.8% in October, which was down from September’s 6.3%. October’s figure marked the weakest inflation rate since September 2021. Looking at the details of the release, price pressures for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels remained weak and price pressures for food eased, while transportation prices rose at a quicker pace in October compared to the previous month.
In addition, the trend pointed down, with annual average inflation coming in at 11.4% in October (September: 12.4%). Meanwhile, harmonized inflation fell to 5.9% in October, from the previous month’s 6.4%.
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.41% in October over the previous month, swinging from September’s 0.10% fall.
