Bulgaria: Inflation slides in February
Inflation fell to 16.0% in February from January’s 16.7%. February’s figure represented the lowest inflation rate since May 2022. The reading was driven by moderating price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages and easing price pressures for transportation.
Meanwhile, the trend pointed up, with annual average inflation coming in at 16.4% in February (January: 15.9%). Meanwhile, harmonized inflation fell to 13.7% in February, from January’s 14.3%.
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.78% in February over the previous month, slowing down from January’s 1.36% increase.
