Bulgaria: Inflation steady at five-and-a-half year high in August
Consumer prices rose 0.1% over the previous month in August, following a 0.7% month-on-month increase in July. According to the Statistical Institute, food prices were flat from a month earlier while the rise in transport prices moderated from July.
Inflation was stable from July at 3.5%, again the highest reading in five-and-a-half years. Meanwhile, annual average inflation ticked up to 2.6% from 2.4%.
