Chile: Consumer confidence dips in November
The Adimark GfK consumer confidence index declined to 29.5 points in November, from 29.9 points in October, which had marked the strongest reading in eight months. Therefore, the index moved further below the critical 50-point threshold that separates pessimism from optimism among Chilean consumers.
Expectations on the stability of the country in the next five years and consumers’ willingness to buy big-ticket items deteriorated. On the other hand, sentiment regarding current general economic conditions, personal financial conditions and the economic outlook for the next year improved from the previous month.
