Chile: Consumer confidence picks up in January
Consumer confidence came in at 112.2 in January, up notably from December’s 106.9. January’s result marked the best reading since May 2018. As a result, the index moved further above from the 100-point threshold, pointing to optimism among consumers.
The uptick came on the back of an improvement in consumers’ views of the future situation. In contrast, consumers’ sentiment regarding the current situation weakened.
