Chile: Inflation inches down in October
Consumer prices increased a seasonally-adjusted 0.68% in October over the previous month, picking up from the 0.64% rise seen in September. October’s result was the sharpest increase in prices since October 2019. Looking at the details of the release, prices for utilities increased at a much faster pace than in September. In contrast, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages grew at a softer pace.
Inflation dipped to 3.0% in October from 3.1% in August. Annual average inflation was stable at September’s 3.0%. Lastly, core inflation ticked up to 2.4% from September’s 2.2%.
