Chile: Inflation rises further in June
Consumer prices increased a seasonally-adjusted 0.08% in June over the previous month, following the 0.27% rise seen in May. Looking at the details of the release, prices for transport and for housing and transportation grew the most.
Inflation rose to an over one-year high of 3.8% in June from May’s 3.7%. Meanwhile, annual average inflation inched up to 3.0% from 2.9% in May. Lastly, core inflation was stable at May’s 3.1%, which had marked the highest reading since October 2016.
