Chile: Inflation ticks down in July
Consumer prices rose a seasonally-adjusted 0.10% over the previous month in July, contrasting June’s 0.07% drop. The reading was largely driven by rising prices for non-alcoholic beverages and for alcoholic beverages and tobacco.
Inflation came in at 2.5% in July, down from June’s 2.6% print. July’s reading marked the weakest inflation rate since October 2019. Meanwhile, the trend was unchanged with annual average inflation coming in at June’s 2.9% in June. Lastly, core inflation fell to 1.8% from June’s 2.0%.
