China: Growth in house prices accelerates to five-month high in December
House prices in 70 large- and medium-sized cities rose 0.4% in December from the previous month, according to a weighted average index calculated by Thomson Reuters from data issued by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). The print was above November’s 0.3% increase. According to the NBS, the sale price of newly-constructed residential buildings increased in 57 cities (57 in November).
House prices rose 5.3% annually in December, which was above November’s 5.1% increase. Annual average growth in house prices fell from 9.5% in November to 8.9% in December.
