China: Growth in house prices decelerates in January
House prices in 70 large- and medium-sized cities rose 0.3% in January from the previous month, according to a weighted average index calculated by Thomson Reuters from data issued by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). The print was below December’s 0.4% increase. According to the NBS, the sale price of newly-constructed residential buildings increased in 52 cities (57 in December).
House prices rose 5.0% annually in January, which was below December’s 5.3% increase. Annual average growth in house prices fell from 8.9% in December to 8.3% in January, marking a one-year low.
