China: Growth in house prices falls to five-month in February
House prices in 70 large- and medium-sized cities rose 0.2% in February from the previous month, according to a weighted average index calculated by Thomson Reuters from data issued by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). The print was below January’s 0.3% increase and the lowest reading since September 2017. According to the NBS, the sale price of newly-constructed residential buildings increased in 44 cities (52 in January).
House prices rose 5.2% annually in February, which was above January’s 5.0% increase. Annual average growth in house prices fell from 8.3% in January to 7.7% in February, marking a 15-month low.
