China: Housing market stays soft in February
House prices in 70 large- and medium-sized cities were stable month-on-month in February, according to a weighted average index calculated by Refinitiv from data issued by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). The print followed January’s 0.1% rise.
House prices increased 2.0% annually in February, down from January’s 2.3% increase. Annual average growth in house prices dipped from 3.9% to 3.7%. Other housing market indicators were also soft: Year-to-date, commercial building sales and real estate development funding plummeted, while the National Real Estate Climate Index also fell.
