Colombia: Consumer sentiment deteriorates in November
Consumers turned more pessimistic in November, with the Fedesarrollo consumer confidence index falling to minus 14.4 from 9.8 in October. The index, thus moved further from the critical zero-threshold separating pessimism and optimism among consumers, signaling a deterioration in sentiment.
November’s downturn was largely driven by consumers’ worsened outlook over general economic conditions in the year ahead. Moreover, households’ willingness to purchase big-ticket items deteriorated markedly in November.
