Colombia: Consumer confidence eases in August
According to a survey elaborated by Fedesarrollo, consumer confidence came in at minus 18.8 in August, down from July’s minus 17.4. As a result, the index remained entrenched below the 0-point threshold, indicating sustained pessimism among consumers.
All but one component of the consumer confidence index worsened in August, with the exception of consumers’ views of the state of the economy in one year. Consumers became less optimistic about their financial situations a year ahead. They also became more pessimistic about their likelihoods of purchasing durable goods and about their financial situations compared to a year ago.
