Colombia: Consumer sentiment hits highest reading since September 2022 in June
According to a survey elaborated by Fedesarrollo, consumer sentiment came in at minus 14.1 in June, up notably from May’s minus 22.8. June’s result was the strongest since September 2022. However, the index remained entrenched below the 0-point threshold, signaling that consumers were pessimistic.
Every component of the consumer confidence index improved in June. Consumers became more optimistic about their financial situation a year ahead, and less pessimistic about their present financial situation and likelihood to purchase consumer goods.
