Colombia: Consumer sentiment improves in May
According to a survey elaborated by Fedesarollo, consumer sentiment jumped to minus 22.8 in May from April’s minus 28.8. May’s result marked the strongest sentiment since December 2022. That said, despite rising, the index remained below the 0-point threshold that separates pessimism from optimism among consumers.
Every component of the consumer confidence index improved in May. Consumers became more optimistic about their financial situation a year ahead, and less pessimistic about their present financial situation and likelihood to purchase consumer goods.
