Colombia: Consumer sentiment improves in September
According to a survey elaborated by Fedesarrollo, consumer sentiment came in at minus 17.9 in September, up from August’s minus 18.8. Despite the uptick, the index remained entrenched below the 0-point threshold, pointing to improving, albeit still negative sentiment among consumers.
Consumers said they were less averse to buy durable goods than in the prior month, and expressed greater optimism about their financial situation a year ahead, driving the improvement in the index. Less positively, consumers became more pessimistic about the state of the economy a year ahead.
