Colombia: Consumers become less pessimistic in July
Consumer sentiment improved in July, albeit remained in pessimistic territory. The consumer confidence index published by Fedesarrollo rose to minus 5.1 points from minus 6.3 points in June, thus moving closer to the critical zero-point threshold separating pessimism and optimism among consumers.
July’s improvement came chiefly on the back of consumers’ improved perception of the general economic conditions ahead. That said, with regards to their forwards looking economic prospects, consumers were slightly more pessimistic than a month prior.
