Colombia: Economic activity decelerates notably in December
Economic activity grew 0.1% in year-on-year terms in December, which followed November’s 1.9% increase. Looking at the details of the release, the slowdown was primarily driven by weaker activity in the agriculture sector. In addition, activity in the services sector lost pace.
On a monthly basis, economic activity dropped 0.2% in seasonally adjusted terms in December, contrasting November’s 0.9% expansion. Meanwhile, annual average economic activity growth fell to 0.6% in December (November: +0.7%), pointing to a worsening trend.
