Colombia: Economic activity growth slows in August
Economic activity rose 0.2% year on year in August (July: +1.0% yoy). August’s slowdown was broad-based: Agricultural and services output grew at weaker rates, and industrial production declined at a sharper rate.
On a monthly basis, economic activity grew 0.8% in seasonally adjusted terms in August, rebounding from July’s 0.8% fall. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average growth of economic activity coming in at an over two-year low of 1.7% in August, down from July’s 2.4% reading.
