Colombia: Industrial output rebounds in February
Industrial output bounced back in February, growing 0.6% year-on-year, contrasting January´s 1.6% drop. February’s result reflected expanding output in 19 of 39 subsectors, as opposed to 18 subsectors with growing production in January. Looking at the details of the press release, February’s upturn was chiefly driven by a quicker growth of manufacturing of basic chemical substances, as well as of electrical appliances and equipment.
Meanwhile, the trend edged down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 8.6% in February, following January’s minus 8.3% reading.
