Colombia: Industrial production growth moderates in November
According to data released by Colombia’s National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE) on 18 January, the industrial sector lost some pace, with the year-on-year pace of expansion moderating to 4.7% in November, down from 5.4% in October.
A breakdown of the industrial activities showed that November’s expansion was driven by a double-digit upturn in the categories of coking, oil refining and fuel blending, and clothing making, along with a strong rise in the preparation of beverages. Expansions in these sub-components more than offset marked contractions in the preparation of sugar and panela, and manufacture of basic chemical substances and their products.
Annual average growth in industrial production climbed to 2.9% in November, from 2.5% in October.
