Colombia: Inflation accelerates in June
Consumer prices tumbled 0.05% over the previous month in June, contrasting May’s 1.00% increase and marking the first drop in prices in seven months. June’s slide was largely attributed to falling prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Inflation accelerated to 3.6% in June, following May’s 3.3% reading, moving further above the midpoint of the Bank’s 2.0–4.0% target range. Annual average inflation remained edged up 2.0% in June following May’s 1.9%. Lastly, core inflation came in at 3.4% in June from the previous month’s 2.8%.
