Colombia: Inflation ticks up in February
Consumer prices rose 0.67% over the previous month in February, accelerating from January’s 0.42% increase and marking the fastest rise in two years. February’s reading largely reflected higher prices for education, as well as for food and alcoholic beverages and healthcare.
Inflation ticked up to 3.7% in February from January’s 3.6%. Thus, it moved away from the midpoint of the Central Bank’s target range of 3.0% plus or minus 1.0 percentage points. Meanwhile, annual average inflation came in at 3.6% in February, matching January’s print.
