Colombia: Inflation drops to lowest level since September 2022 in June
Inflation came in at 12.1% in June, down from May’s 12.4%. June’s reading represented the lowest inflation rate since September 2022. The moderation was broad-based, with reduced price pressures recorded for housing and utilities, food and non-alcoholic beverages, and restaurants and hotels.
The trend pointed up slightly, with annual average inflation coming in at 12.3% in June (May: 12.1%). Meanwhile, core inflation fell to 11.6% in June, from May’s 11.9%.
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.30% over the previous month in June, slowing down from the 0.44% increase seen in May. June’s result marked the softest rise in prices since October 2021.
