Costa Rica: Economic activity expands at quickest pace since March 2022 in January
Economic activity rose 4.8% in January (December: +3.5% ). January’s print marked the best reading since March 2022. Looking at the details of the release, the manufacturing sector accelerated while the health sector rebounded. Meanwhile, activity in the construction and agricultural sectors declined, while the transport and information and communication sectors grew at a weaker pace.
Annual average economic activity growth fell to 4.0% in January (December: +4.4%), pointing to a worsening trend.
