Costa Rica: Economic activity growth moderates in July
Economic activity increased 5.3% in annual terms in July, which was a deterioration from June’s 8.2% increase. Looking at the details of the release, the agriculture, forestry and fishing sector increased at a slower rate in July. Moreover, growth in the manufacturing sector roughly halved.
Meanwhile, the trend improved modestly, with the annual average growth of economic activity coming in at 4.8% in July, up from June’s 4.5%.
On a monthly seasonally-adjusted basis, economic activity declined 0.2% in July (June: +0.6% mom s.a).
