Costa Rica: Economic activity growth rises in January
Economic activity increased 4.0% year on year in January (December: +2.2% yoy). January’s figure was largely driven by a notable rebound in the agriculture, forestry and fishing sector. In addition, the manufacturing sector improved.
Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average growth of economic activity coming in at 5.3% in January, down from December’s 5.4% reading. On a monthly basis, economic activity rose 0.3% in seasonally adjusted terms in January, rebounding from December’s 0.6% fall.
