Costa Rica: Economic activity growth wanes in September
Economic activity increased 6.3% in year-on-year terms in September, which was a deterioration from August’s 6.9% increase. The figure was largely due to a deterioration in the agriculture, forestry and fishing sector, as it contracted for the first time since August 2022. In addition, manufacturing activity growth weakened.
Meanwhile, the trend improved, with the annual average growth of economic activity coming in at 5.3% in September, up from August’s 5.0%. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, economic activity was flat in September (August: +1.3% mom s.a.).
