Costa Rica: Consumer prices fall at a faster pace in December
Consumer prices fell 1.8% on an annual basis in December, from November’s 1.6% year-on-year fall. December’s figure represented the largest fall in consumer prices since September. Looking at the details of the release, prices for transportation fell at a sharper rate. However, prices for housing rose at a quicker pace.
The trend pointed down, with annual average inflation coming in at 0.5% in December (November: 1.3%).
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.01% in December over the previous month, contrasting November’s 0.23% drop.
