Costa Rica: Consumer prices stable in July
Consumer prices were unchanged on an annual basis in July for the second consecutive month. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and for transportation decreased at slower rates in July, while price pressures for housing picked up.
The annual average variation of consumer prices rose to minus 1.3% in July (June: -1.5%).
Finally, consumer prices dropped 0.12% in July over the previous month, swinging from June’s 0.14% rise. July’s result marked the weakest reading since March.
