Costa Rica: Inflation drops in July
Consumer prices dropped 0.21% in July over the previous month, contrasting the 0.54% increase recorded in June. July’s result marked the sharpest fall in prices since February. Looking at the details of the release, prices for transportation swung into contraction, while housing prices fell at a quicker pace compared to the previous month.
Inflation came in at 1.4% in July, down from June’s 1.9% print. Meanwhile, annual average inflation edged up to 0.8% in July (June: 0.7%).
