Croatia: Economic sentiment increases in August
Economic sentiment rose to 108.0 in August from July’s 106.0. August’s result marked the best reading since March. As a result, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected stronger sentiment in the industrial sector. Less positively, sentiment in the construction and retail sectors weakened in August, as did consumer confidence. Meanwhile, sentiment in the services sector was stable.
Regarding indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations deteriorated, while the economic uncertainty index remained stable in August.
