Croatia: Economic sentiment improves in May
Economic sentiment rose to 107.8 in May from April’s 107.6. Consequently, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected stronger sentiment in the construction and retail sectors. Moreover, consumer confidence rose in May. Less positively, sentiment in the industrial and services sector waned in May.
Considering indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations improved, while the economic uncertainty index rose in May.
